A youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) known as “Ken4President” has called on delegates of the party to give the nod to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong to lead the party to victory in the 2024 polls.
According to the wing, over 85 per cent of delegates were rallying behind him to become the flagbearer to win the elections for the party.
Spokesperson for the wing,John Kwadwo Owusu, in a statement issued to the Ghanaian Times here, indicated that Ghana would work again under Mr Agyapong and all delegates nationwide should support his bid due to his trusted, honest and indefatigable personality.
It said “the presidential aspirant hopeful, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central in the Central Region is a tried, tested and proven to be politically fit by all standards and also the most favourable, honest and altruistically minded to lead the NPP to victory without doubt.
“Irrespective of the numerous open and hidden calculated machinations and lies targeted at Mr Agyapong, he has been focused and unfased, determined, dedicated, determined and disciplined to deliver towards transformation of the country with strict adherence to good governance and the rule of law.
“Mr Agyapong is industrious with enviable track record which confidently makes him the best and first among his peers, proven track record in the field of business and contributes to help, support and assist the vulnerable in society humanity and it will be politically suicidal for the NPP to massage issues against a person willing and ready to give a new face of progress, growth and development to the country,” the statement cautioned.
It noted that attempts to manipulate the presidential primary in favour of a particular candidate would be suicidal for the NPP to break the eight-year political party cycle because it would lead to disunity, apathy, wrangling and disillusion with the rank and file of the party.
“Ken is tried, tested and proven to be politically foresighted, most favourable, honest and altruistically minded to lead the NPP to victory without doubt so that Ghana will work again under him and every delegate should endeavour to maintained their stance in support of the only trusted, honest and indefatigable personality.
