Christians asked to seek will of God in making choices

Christians have been advised to seek the will of God in making choices which would have positive effect on the people and society in general.

Preaching at St John of God Catholic Church, Amrahia in the Adentan Municipality, the Director of Religious Education and Catechetic at the National Catholic Secretariat, Very Rev. Fr Christopher Vodzogbe said this was important because some choices had devastating effects, hence the need to pray for God’s discernment.

Very Rev. Vodzogbe, said Solomon having made God the centre of his reign and without whom he could do nothing, prayed for wisdom to enable him to discharge the task entrusted into his hands.

He called on Christians to make sacrifices for the benefit of others, adding that Jesus Christ made a choice by leaving his glory with God in heaven, lived among us and ended his life through his death on the cross for our salvation.

“If Jesus Christ should take our human nature to suffer and eventually died for our sake, then we have no excuse but to hold on fast to our faith in the saviour and follow in his footsteps,” he advised.

Very Rev. Fr Vodzogbe advised the faithful not to put their treasure in the fleeting things of this world, but depend on the mercy of God.

In a related development, Madam Reine Segbedzi, though battling with ill health, made time to attend Holy Mass to thank God on the occasion of her 70th birthday.
