The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results of the 2022 candidates will be released on Wednesday, 25th January, 2023.
This was disclosed by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in a press statement signed by the Head Legal, Rev. Victor Brew, on Thursday and copied to the Ghanaian Times in Accra.
According to the statement, the council had successfully conducted the examination at 2,023 centres, completed coordination and marking exercises, and has advanced with post-examination activities.
“Investigations are ongoing into examination irregularity cases detected during and after the conduct of the examination, for a quick resolution of malpractice cases, the council appeals to affected school authorities and candidates to respond with dispatch to its invitation,” it read.
Also, it noted that candidates’ refusal to honour such invitations would not stop the council from making a final determination on the cases in question.
Further, the council urged the public to disregard all information circulating on social media indicating that the results have been released, among others.
“Parents and candidates should remain calm as the council works towards the release of results,” it stated.
The BECE examination began on Monday, October 17, 2022 and ended on Friday, October 21, 2022, with a total of 553,408 candidates, including 1,132 private candidates.
