Zebilla police begins investigation into killing of Saka subchief

The Zebila police in the Upper East Region has begun investigations into the killing of Nab Salifu Mustapha, a sub chief of Saka Traditional Area, in the Bawku West District of the Upper East on Sunday.

Three Unidentified gunmen allegedly stormed the palace of the chief and shot him twice, killing him instantly and injuring his son.

The Zebilla Police Commander, Superintendent Adam Ahmed confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times here yesterday 

The body of the Sub-chief was initially deposited at Bolgatanga morgue and later on released to the family for burial as demanded by the Moslem religion.

The three unknown gunmen also wounded one of his sons who was with him at the house around the time.

According to Supt Ahmed the gunmen stormed the palace around 8:20 p.m. Sunday night and ordered Nab Salifu Mustapha and his three sons who were with him to lie on their stomachs.

Throwing more light on the incident  Police Superintendent Adam Ahmed Mahama said the  District Police Command   received a telephone call about the  incident  and  immediately  dispatched  some police men  to the area to hunt the perpetrators but  upon their arrival, the miscreants had left the scene.

 The motive for the murder of the sub chief remains unclear but a brother of him Bukari Abugre, Nekeenab, however, attributed the incident   to a pending land and a chieftaincy disputes in the area.

The brother of the deceased therefore called on the police and the other security agencies in the Bawku West District to speed up the process to arrest the culprits for trails.
