Work responsibly to win seats in ‘orphan constituencies’ – Martha Manu

Martha Kwayie Manu, the Juaboso District Chief Executive in the Western North Region, has tasked the youth and women wings and communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to show commitment, sacrifice and mobilise the grassroots with issue-based messages to retain the party and win more seats in the December polls.

“You must work responsibly, be dedicated, determined and committed to the party’s objective of winning the December general election, especially seats in ‘orphan constituencies’, because the most vibrant of our population is the youth and if you want to win any election you have the machineries to use.

“The time has come for NPP to take over Juaboso parliamentary seat as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has nothing good to offer the constituency, after winning the parliamentary seat since 1992 but no improvement in the constituency,” Mrs Manu charged.

She was addressing the youth wing of NPP in the Juaboso constituency at its maiden conference on the theme: ‘Mobilising the youth to capture Juaboso parliamentary seat for NPP 2020.’

The conference was to involve the youth in the constituency for the victory of the NPP parliamentary candidate, Mrs Manu, who doubles as the Juaboso District Chief Executive.

Mrs Manu advised the delegates not to be complacent but their campaign must be issue-based to attract the youth especially first-time and floating voters to ensure another massive victory in the December polls.

Gabriel Doh, the Western North Regional Youth Organiser of NPP, urged the youth to work hard to get victory for both the president and Mrs Manu in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections respectively since they have brought hope to the youth by providing jobs and other social interventions.

Samuel Abiaw, the Regional Secretary of NPP,  said the regional and constituency executives of the party were ready to provide all logistics to empower the youth to win the parliamentary seat from NDC and advised all party members and supporters to participate in the voter registration exercise, when compilation commences.

Adams Mohammed, the Constituency Youth Organiser of the NPP, appealed to the youth to embark on house to house education and sensitisation on the government’s policies and programmes to give the constituents hope to vote massively for the party.

A 10-member working committee with the responsibility of ensuring NPP wins the parliamentary seat was inaugurated. -GNA
