Work hard to sustain power in 2020–NPP youth advised

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has admonished the youth in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work harder and continue preaching the “good works” of the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration and the party ahead of next year’s elections.

She explained that “the governing New Patriotic Party is resolved, determined, dedicated and committed to retain power and will depend on the work you do especially at the grassroots level to attract floating voters, first-time voters, those of our political opponents and door-to-door campaigns.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, who is also the Minister of Communications made the admonition at the Ablekuma West Constituency Youth Wing conference which was on the theme: ‘Sustaining Power 2020-the role of the youth,’ noted that the Akufo-Addo-led administration had fulfilled 80 per cent of its campaign promises adding that “the

NPP is the only political party that can lead the growth and development agenda of our country.

“The only way to accelerate the nation’s growth and development is for our youth and the party to win the 2020 general election convincingly with the youth playing a key role while the government is working hard to create employment and wealth opportunities for the youth and I caution you against acts that will endanger the chances of our party in the 2020 elections.

Henry Nana Boakye, the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, stressed that the youth had an important role to play by actively supporting and assisting activities of the government and the party to make it succeed since the government and the party was committed, dedicated, determined and resolved towards youth growth and development and was counting on them to retain power after 2020 as future generation.

“I will urge you to intensify and embark on our house-to-house campaign and disseminate the massive achievements of the President, the government and the party,” he intimated.
