A 23-year-old wood carver, who attacked and inflicted wounds on another person who tried to separate him during a fight, has been granted a GH₵ 60,000.00 bail with three sureties, by the Nkawie Circuit Court.

Solomon Nkrumah pleaded not guilty and would reappear before the court presided by Mr Johnson Abbey on May 28, this year.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Sylvanus Dalmeida told the court that both the complainant and the accused were residents of Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District.

He said on April 9, this year, a quarrel ensued between the two at a drinking spot in the town and they were separated.

Few days later, Solomon was engaged in a fight with another person in the town, the complainant went there and tried to separate them.

DSP Dalmeida said when Solomon saw the complainant, he pulled a pair of scissors and stabbed his ribs and hands.

He said some people in the vicinity came to the rescue of the complainant and a report was made to the police who then arrested Solomon.

The prosecution said Solomon admitted the offence and was charged and brought before the court.  GNA
