Woman’s lifeless body found in gutter

A woman’s lifeless body was yesterday found in a gutter opposite Royalhouse Chapel International near the Obetsebi Lamptey interchange, in the Okaikwei South Constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
The name of the deceased, believed to be in her early 20s, was yet unknown.

At the time Ghanaian Times visited the scene, the body of the woman, lying stretched out in the gutter, was surrounded by a lot of passers-by.
It was not clear whether the woman was murdered and dumped in the gutter or otherwise, as the curious passers-by wondered what might have caused her tragic demise.

“I was riding on the road and saw a lot of people surrounding the area, and I decided to stop and check what was going on. To my surprise, I saw a lifeless body of a women lying in the gutter,” Alhassan Inusah, an okada rider said.

A taxi driver, Bright Amo said: “I think she was either killed somewhere and was dumped here, or she was chased and struggled with the perpetrators before they killed her, because you could see some footprints in the gutter.”

Chief Superintendent Gove Hanson, the Kaneshie Divisional Crime Officer, when contacted, also said the cause of the incident was unknown, but the police would commence investigations to get to the bottom of the matter.

The lifeless body was later picked by personnel from the Kaneshie Police Command and deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary in Accra for autopsy.
