WIUC awards Certificates in Music to 7 students

The Wisconsin International University College, Ghana (WIUC) on Friday, awarded certificates to the 2021 batch of graduates from the university’s Certificate in Music programme.

The 12-week certificate course took students through intensive training in Music in Worship, Special Artiste and Audio Engineering in Music.

 In all, seven graduates were awarded with certificates after the programme.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Accra, the Dean of the School of Communication Studies, Dr Kweku Rockson, admonished students to take advantage of the skills they had acquired to grow the music industry.

“Music has moved from just a hobby to a multi-million business and therefore studying music in a formal atmosphere with both practical and theoretical approach gives you the upper-hand,” he stated.

Also present at the ceremony was renowned composer and Coordinator for the Wisconsin Music School Reverend Newlove Annan who commended the students for the intelligence they exhibited during their study and tasked them to, “reach for the sky”.

He also announced that the Wisconsin Music School would in September, roll out a Bachelor of Arts Music Study programme, to equip and motivate students with theoretical, conceptual and technical skills needed to excel as professional musicians and artist of international repute.
