West Africa-Latin America Trade, Investment and Sister Cities conference rescheduled for May

The West Africa – Latin America Trade, Investment and Sister Cities Conference to promote investment in the two regions has been rescheduled for May 19- 28 in Belize, South America.

It was originally scheduled to take place between February 13-20.

The rescheduling of the date is to allow the Belmopan City authorities, the host, to deepen engagement with stakeholders for a successful conference.

This follows a letter of intent signed by the President of African Cities Development Consult( ACDC),  AlhajiAlhassanMusah,  who are the organisers and Mayor  of the Belmopan City Council, Madam Sheran Sharon Palacio,  in Belize on January 10.

The Director of International Relations of ACDC, AlhajiKhuzaimah Osman, disclosed this to the Ghanaian Times yesterday.

The Letter of Intent between the two set out the framework for the conference to be hosted by the Belmopan City Council to deepen trade and investment for the mutual benefits of the two.

The two parties agreed to exchange information on culture, education, science and technology entrepreneurship, tourism to mention but a few, to attract investment opportunities in the two regions.

The West Africa – Latin America project is expected to be a biggest gathering of international and local investors, development practitioners, academics, regulators, policymakers from the two regions to discuss and advance investment opportunities.

About 100 cities and municipals in West Africa are expected at the conference to network to create long lasting sister cities project and synergies.

With a market force of about 350 million people in a relatively stable region, ACDC seeks to attract more investment and business opportunities to the people.
