Vote for marketable candidates– Prof Yankah urges NPP delegates

Professor Kwesi Yankah, the Minister in charge of Tertiary Education, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region to vote for marketable candidates to snatch parliamentary seats from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections.

He said the delegates should use their power to choose the best, affable and dignified candidates to contest the elections.

Speaking at the Agona East NPP delegates’ meeting, Professor Yankah enumerated some social interventions to be carried out in the constituency, which included a contract to connect 35 communities to the national grid by the end of 2019.

The move he explained, “is in line with the government’s decision to ensure that every community in the country is connected to the national grid to drive the growth and development of rural economy, due to the absence of electricity, some people in rural areas found it extremely difficult to undertake small scale entrepreneurial ventures and it will soon be solved”.

On education, Prof Yankah hinted that “more than 15 educational structures have reached various stages of completion while others have been completed in Agona East and other districts in the Central Region”.

Ben Mensah, former Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West, asked the delegates to critically assess the other aspirants vying for parliamentary seats, adding that, “Prof Yankah is capable, marketable, affable and credible to deliver when given the nod”. –GNA
