United players subjected to Coronavirus test twice a day

Manchester United‘s medical team are testing the club’s stars twice a day for coronavirus during training, according to reports.

Club doctors at United’s Carrington training ground are unwilling to take any risks with the virus continuing to spread.

As a result, the Mirror claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are tested when they arrive and leave the training ground.

United have no plans to close Carrington yet – despite Arsenal and Everton’s training complexes being in complete lockdown.

However, United are taking precautions, with only essential first-team staff allowed to come into close contact with players.

The news comes after it was revealed that United’s players were monitored for the virus throughout their Europa League last 16 first leg against LASK.

They took player’s temperatures at the halfway stage to make certain no-one was at risk of falling victim to the Coronavirus.

And additionally – on their flight back to Manchester – medical staff took further readings with the club on red-alert to the dangers of spreading the virus.

Speaking after United’s 5-0 drubbing of the Austrian side on Thursday, Solskjaer said: ‘Our medical staff are watching this minute to minute.

‘Even at half time during the game in Austria the doctor was checking the players.

‘Of course, we are part of the general public as well. We have a duty to obey what the authorities and experts decide on.’ –Mailonline
