Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, former Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, has admonished members and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unite ahead of the 2024 general election.
He explained that members and supporters needed to abhor intra-party hatred, attacks, wrangling and vilification of members and sympathisers of the party but to unite the rank and file for victory in the 2024 elections.
“We should work hard together in harmony and in cohesion to put the party on a solid ground in the constituency and avoid bickering, wrangling and spreading false information about other members, faithful and sympathisers to desist from such acts because such moves will only divide the party at the grassroots which has dire consequences,” Nii Afotey-Agbo warned.
He made the admonition at an NDC outreach programme in the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency to whip up enthusiasm of members, well-wishers, faithful and sympathisers of the party not to feel disillusioned but work harder to return the party to power in 2025.
Nii Afotey-Agbo said the party’s interest should be paramount to individual parochial interest in order to remain focus, steadfast and resolute to recapture power in 2025 and advised the branch and regional executives to strategise, accommodate and love one another as the party works harder to recapture the power they yearned for.
“We have to accommodate one another so as not to lose our guard for our main political opponent to retain power in the 2024 elections for Ghanaians to incur unprecedented hardships and collapse the economy which we must avoid by uniting to claim power in 2025,” he averred.
Nicholas Oko Ofei, NDC Kpone-Katamanso Constituency Chairman, expressed gratitude to the members, faithful and sympathisers of the party for their support and assistance over the years and appealed to them and well-wishers of the party to sustain the cordial relationships so as to win power in 2025.
He disclosed that the party would soon conduct branch level elections at the constituency, regional and at the national levels to elect officers to hold the various positions in the party.
“The hierarchy of the party will at all times put in measures to meet your interests so party members, sympathisers, faithful and well-wishers including floating and first time voters must sustain their support and assistance at the grassroots to secure the needed victory in Election 2024,” Mr Ofei assured. –ghanaweb.com
