Unistar Academy, Nzema Kotoko clash at Cape Coast

Giant-killers, Unistar Soccer Academy will hope to push their fairytale run in the ongoing Normalisation Committee (NC) Tier 2 competition a step further into the finals when they clash with Nzema Kotoko in the semi-finals today at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium at 3pm.

Having blown away Accra Hearts of Oak 5-4 on penalties enroute to this stage to earn the tag as giant killers, the Division One side believes they can go all out and win the diadem.

Coach of the side, Ernst Jerat Wolfgang is relishing the opportunity to follow the footsteps of legendary former Ghana international Abedi “Pele” Ayew who in 2011 led Division One side FC Nania to beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the finals of the FA Cup.

However, before that dream, he has the Christopher Nortey Lokko led Nzema Kotoko side to contend with.

“My boys are ready for the game today; we take each game at a time. We are looking at playing in the finals but first we have to beat our opponents today to realise this dream.”

In goalkeeper Peter Onyame, Unistar Academy has a dependable shot-stopper who can carry the team further in the competition with the backing of midfielders Godknows Wisdom, Donatus Akobila and strikers Yaw Obuoba and Joseph Doe-Fia.

But Coach Lokko who guided his side to beat Karela United, Vision FC and Heart of Lions 4-1 at the quarter-finals stage, insists that a different story would be told this afternoon from what his opposite number thinks.

“We have laboured to get to this stage of the competition. We want to make history by going all the way to the finals and lift the cup, so Unistar should be prepared for a game of their lives.”

According to him, he has an all round team and would want to keep his cards close to his chest ahead of the game.

He called on his supporters in the Western and Central regions to come out in their numbers and support the team to victory.
