Two persons lost their lives on Thursday on the Accra-Tema Motorway when their Sports Utility Vehicle crashed into a stationary truck.
The deceased who are yet to be identified are a male and a female.
They were pronounced dead on arrival at the Tema General Hospital when they were rushed for medical attention.
Meanwhile, eye witnesses said the deceased whose relationship with each other was yet to be established had earlier been engaged in wrongful overtaking and speeding.
It is believed they might have lost control of the vehicle in the process and so run into the truck leading to their subsequent loss of lives.
Several members of the public who gathered at the scene lamented the loss of lives especially as the year had just begun.
The accident was confirmed by a Police source at the Tema Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) saying the matter was still under investigation.
