A trade unionist, Diana Tetteh, has announced her decision to contest the 2024 parliamentary primaries for Awutu Senya East Constituency in the Central Region.
She will be contesting on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with four other aspirants.
Mrs Tetteh said as part of her vision she would prioritise the welfare and livelihoods of members, supporters and faithful of the party in the constituency.
In an interview with the Ghanaian Times, she noted that “if given the nod, she will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure progress, growth, development of the area, establish an educational fund to support and assist pupils and students in gaining formal employment in the private and public sectors of the country.
“I will work with constituency executives in the spirit of broader stakeholder consultation through quarterly consultative meetings, prioritise the peace, unity and harmony of the party for the 2024 elections and beyond,” Mrs Tetteh assured.
The aspiring MP, with experience in trade unionism spanning a decade promised to be a unifier in the constituency and appealed to delegates to vote for her during the primaries to win the seat for the NDC saying “I am appealing to the delegates to rally behind me to win the nod to contest the seat and win it for the NDC”.
Mrs Tetteh, a teacher, trade unionist and an insurance underwriter indicated that she was motivated and ready to serve her people in the constituency when given the opportunity and pledged to prioritise support and assistance for the aged in the party and residents in Awutu Senya East.
On human development with priority on education, Mrs Tetteh promised to promote education in the area, encourage more people to pursue Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to produce more engineers and technicians so as to improve the human resource development of the country.
Some of her achievements as a-two term Assembly Member for the Adam Nana Electoral Area were lobbying for an Electricity Company of Ghana vending point, Community-based Health Planning and Services compound at Lamptey and Adam Nana Electoral Areas, extension of water pipelines to Amuzukope, free health screening and supply of medical drugs to residents and initiated the tent city concept in Kasoa.
