Tijaniiya Muslim Council consoles Turkey, Syria

The supreme leader of Tijani­ya-Ghana and President of Ti­janiiya Muslim Council of Gha­na, Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Ahmed Maikano, on behalf of the council expressed condolences to the people of Turkey and Syria on the earthquake that hit both countries, resulting in the death and injuries of many people.

“The office of the Khalifa has received the sad and unfortunate news of the tragedy which befell the eastern part of Turkey, near the Syrian border, in the early hours of Monday morning, the earthquake is really a big blow to Turkey and also the whole world as it has also affected other nationals,” a statement from the office of the Khali­fa copied the Ghanaian Times said.

The statement wished those who sustained various degrees of injuries speedy recovery.

It also urged Turkey not to let the unfortunate situation set them back, but rather organise themselves and move on.

The statement praised the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the rescuers for their efforts in ensuring victims were rescued.
