Tema MMTD enforces wearing of nose masks

The Tema Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) has embarked on an education and enforcement campaign on the use of nose masks as part of measures to deal with the spread of COVID-19 in the area.

The exercise which is being spearheaded by the Regional MMTD Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joseph Owusu-Bempah among other things is to help drivers and commuters to observe all the protocols in the fight against the pandemic.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Times, Mr Owusu-Bempah said the exercise had become necessary because of the increasing rate at which the virus was spreading in the area.

He said some drivers and commuters had to be turned away because they were not wearing nose masks.

Mr Owusu-Bempah said some members of the public continued to trivialise the virus and such persons must not be encouraged to endanger the lives of several others.

He emphasised the need for drivers to enforce a “no mask, no entry” directive.

“The Police is doing their part and the public must support us,” he said.
