Tema Metro Div. 3 League underway

The Tema Metro Football Association’s (TMFA) 2022/23 Division Three League commenced yesterday with a total of 18 teams grouped into two zones, comprising of nine teams.

The new season will be climaxed with a middle-league play-off between the zonal winners to determine the winner for the Division Two League spot.

Speaking to the Times Sports, the Tema Metro Chairman, Daasebre Adu-Asare, said the zonal league will last for a period of 16-weeks and four-weeks for the middle league, where the goal king, best player and goalkeeper will be awarded for their outstanding performances at the end of the season.

According to him, fans would enjoy a minimum of four games a day.

This, he said, would boost spectatorship at every match venue and promote the game.

Daasebre Adu-Asare urged clubs, management, playing body and fans to be calm and be disciplined to ensure a successful campaign devoid of violence and hooliganism.

He urged organisations and individuals to come to the aid of the association in terms of sponsorship to unearth and develop more talents.

The action continues today in Zone B, when 7 Pirates welcome Cal United Academy, Tema Ajax host Light Gate FC, Tema Legends battle Fiankonya Shining Stars while Tema Faith rub shoulders with Eco FC. Tema Royals will be on standby.
