Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP gives GH¢50, 000 to Medeama

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa -Nsuaem, Mr George Mireku Duker, on Saturday, presented GH¢50, 000 to the management of Medeama Sporting Club to support the running of the team.

The gesture was also to motivate the playing body to challenge for the Ghana Premier League (GPL) diadem.

Presenting the money, Mr Duker said the gesture was to support the team’s planned trip to Dubai if they win the league.

The MP assured that, he, and others, would secure the team tickets and visas for the Dubai trip, adding that there are also efforts to get a new bus for Medeama.

Mr Duker told the players “My plea to you is to remain committed, focus and build your future. You are not only playing for Tarkwa and Ghana, but, also for yourself. It’s your future. God be with you in your football career.”

He commended Gold Fields Ghana Limited, sponsors of the team for sponsoring the team to the tune of $150,000 and hoped that Anglogold Iduuaprim Mine and Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) would partner them to build the future for Medeama.

The MP also commended the former Vice President of Gold Fields West Africa, Mr Alfred Baku, for his efforts for ensuring the reconstruction of the Tarkwa and Aboso (T&A) Park.

The President of Medeama SC, Mr Moses Armah, thanked Mr Duker for the support and commitment towards the club.

Vice Chairman of Medeama Board, Samuel K. Sackey, thanked Mr Duker for his gesture saying “We know the commitment and sacrifices you have made for the team.”

Captain of team, Joseph Tettah Zuttah, described the donation as unprecedented and believed that it would, motivate the players to work hard and also clinch the premiership this year.
