‘Strengthening internal party structures will increase NPP votes in Election 2024’

An aspirant contesting the Ahafo Regional Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Robert Sarfo-Mensah, has called on the leadership of the party to strengthen internal party structures to increase votes in Election 2024 and particularly in Ahafo Region.

“I have a lot for the party in the region, and I appeal with delegates of the party to give me the nod to lead the party because politics of today has gone beyond propaganda and rhetoric,” he said.

Mr Sarfo-Mensah noted that voters were more enlightened and leadership must try as much as possible to make the party stronger, more attractive and popular by showcasing achievements of the government so as to understand the dynamics in grassroots because he had been a Member of Parliament for three consecutive terms for Asunafo North.

“If we neglect the grassroots then we are going to fail as a party in the region so I promise to build an ultra-modern office complex, if given the nod to lead the party in the general election in 2024 as a stronghold of NPP in Ahafo Region requires befitting party office to facilitate smooth operations for future elections.

“We have to change the face of the NPP at the grassroots level, befitting regional office for the party will further make the party attractive by providing reliable spaces for meetings and registration of potential members and make it less difficult in the next elections hence the need to strengthen structures of the party.

“The grassroots will remain strong pillar of the NPP and I promise to empower them at that level to enable them to propagate achievements of the government to floating and first time voters in particular to enhance our fortunes in future elections, their voice ought to be heard, and must contribute meaningful to electioneering agenda if we want to break the eight years of political party cycle,” Mr Sarfo-Mensah asserted.

He observed that peace, unity, cohesion and harmony were essential factors towards success of political parties, and admonished aspirants in the region and their followers to remain decorous, focus and steadfast in their campaigns devoid of pettiness and insults which could bring divisions and bickering to affect the party’s fortunes. -GNA
