State burial for C. K.Tedam

LATE Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Council of Elders, C. K is to be given a state burial 0n June 22 at his hometown Paga, Upper East Region, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced.

Additionally, a befitting and an appropriate memorial is to be identified to Tedam, who played an integral and vibrant part in the development of the Danquah-Dom- bo-Busia political tradition.

President Akufo-Addo made the announcement when the family of the late elder statesman and astute politician, called on him at the Jubilee House in Accra to inform him officially of his passing. Clement Kubindiwu until his death last April was the last surviving member of the Northern People’s Party, the first NPP.

President Akufo Addo who described the late as a great Ghanaian recalled the role he played in the resolution of the crisis that engulfed the NPP prior to the 2016 election.

He said the strength of Tedam’s char- acter and spiritedness, coupled with the clever manner he negotiated the impasse during that period was instrumental in securing the victory for the NPP in election.

The President said Tedam was the last link to those who founded the NPP tradition and the current generation of NPP members character and described as ‘farsighted’ the instructions that he imparted in the present generation of faithful. —GNA
