Professor Oquaye said this when the new Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Asagepari II, accompanied by members of the Navrongo Traditional Council, called on him at the Parliament House.
The visit was to thank the Speaker, Members and staff of Parliament for their support during the bereavement of the Paramount Chief, following the death of his father, whom he succeeded, as well as his installation as the new Paramount Chief of the Navrongo traditional area.
He, therefore, advised the chiefs and people of the Navrongo traditional area to take advantage of the Free Senior High School Policy and School Feeding Programme by sending all their children, especially the girls, to school.
Professor Oquaye called on the youth to respect their elders in the communities and that those who disrespected their leaders always had problems with the leadership. He said the chiefs were the custodian of the customs, the ideas, beliefs, values
