The Speaker of Parliament Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and five other personalities have been honoured by My Pledge Magazine for their contributions to deepening Ghana’s democracy and good governance and business within and outside Ghana.
The other honourees included the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem South,MrKwaku Boateng, MP for Banda and First Deputy Chief Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, MP for Abuakwa North and Deputy Minister of Education, Mrs Gifty Twum Ampofo.
Also honoured at the launch of the special edition of My Pledge Magazine dedicated to MrBagbin were the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldstar Airline, Mr Eric Bannerman and the Divisional Queen Mother of Ngleshie Amanfrom Nana Tambia IV.
My Pledge Magazine is published by the Nicholas Nhyira Appiah Christian Ministry in collaboration with Parliament Christian Fellowship.
An accompanying citation in his honour read in part: “your teacherable spirit and patriotism is outstanding, you are the definition of a true Christian with your philanthropic lifestyle and generosity according you the name Father for All, My Pledge Magazine therefore confers on you this honour.”
In a speech read on his behalf, Goldstar Air CEO, Mr Eric Bannerman on his part expressed gratitude to My Pledge Magazine management for their great vision of profiling Ghana parliamentarians to motivate the MPs adding that, a nation that is worth dying for was one that honours its living heroes and heroines.
He assured that his company would work with the publishers to ensure that copies of the magazines were always available on board its flights.
He continued, “The current global situation necessitates the use of innovation to help mitigate the consequences, so it requires economic stakeholders to think outside the box and propose solutions to get the country out of the current economic crisis.
“The objective of Goldstar Air is to better the lives of Ghanaians while also helping to the growth of the Ghanaian economy by making foreign travel inexpensive and accessible, as well as giving employment opportunities and aviation-related training to Ghanaians, particularly the youth.
Mr Bagbin receiving his honour commended the organisers for the recognition and pledged his support for its success.
