A soldier of the Shai Hills Training School in the Dangme West District of Greater Accra last Friday allegedly committed suicide by hanging.
The deceased has been identified as Warrant Officer ClassTwo(WOII) Robert Doku,45.
A military source told the Ghanaian Times that the Cantonments Police and the Military Police are handling the case.
According to the source no motive has been established yet.
His body had since been conveyed to the Police Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
The Accra Regional Police Command, Public Relations Officer (PRO)Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP) Juliana Obeng confirmed the tragedy to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.
She said the police had commenced investigations into a case of suicide.
DSP Obeng said the incident happened in a bush close to power house where deceased WOII Doku was found hanging on a tree with a wire on his neck.
According to the police the family of the deceased had since been informed of the incident.
The Ghanaian Times gathered that no suicide note was found on him.
Sources from his work place also stated that he had been quiet for some time now.
