Solar Taxi outdoors Electronic Cars.

Solar Taxi, an electronic-mobility company has unveiled its new models of cars unto the Ghanaian market.


The cars have features such halogen headlights, remote and window control systems among others and rated for their environmental friendliness, will help reduce carbon emission.


The vehicles which comes in different types such as the hatchback, Sedan and SUV  (Special Utility Vehicle) are the first to be introduced for commercial use.


Briefing the Media in Accra yesterday, Ms Barbara Tachie, the Marketing Associate of the company said the vehicles have the potential to mitigate climate change and also provide affordable transportation for Ghanaians.
“By leveraging the energy from the sun, electronic vehicles reduce carbon emissions, cost of delivery and transport services to individuals and businesses across the country,” she said.


She said Solar Taxi provides locally assembled solar-powered electric motorcycles, tricycles, and cars, as well as access to charging stations.
Ms Tachie said the company has established solar hubs to power its vehicles due to the unreliable nature of the national grid in Ghana, adding that the aim is also to increase the use of renewable energy.


She said the company employs drivers for its Taxi and courier services, including many from its Female Driver Training Academy, which educates women on how to operate and maintain the vehicles, “Solar Taxi also has an all-female engineering hub that assembles its solar bikes and cars”
