SkyyFC, Hearts lock horns today

Accra Hearts of Oak and Daboase Skyy FC will battle for the last slot for the semifinal stage of the MTN FA Cup competition today at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The lower-tier division side will honour their home game in the capital following a ban on their home grounds over crowd violence.

That would surely give the Phobians some advantage as they get the chance to play in front of their home fans and create a hostile atmosphere for the visitors.

That notwithstanding, the Skyy FC youngsters are bent on causing what might, perhaps, be the biggest upset of the competition with a win over the Phobians.

That might sound very strange considering the Phobians’ strength at home but relegation threatened Elmina Sharks gave an indication that was a possibility at the previous stage of the competition where they stretch Hearts to penalty shootout.

The Daboase youth will take inspiration from that performance and attempt to stun the Phobians who would want a win to overcome the painful defeat the Asante Kotoko over the weekend when they played in an epic Ghana Premier League game.

As defending champions, they will feel the weight of the pressure to defend the trophy they won which represent the only chance for a silverware and would go at it for a semifinal slot.
