Shai-Osuduku Assembly presents 33 motorcycles to members

The Shai-Osudoku District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, presented motorcycles to 33 members of the assembly to enable them effectively discharge their duties.

This follows a plea from the assembly members on challenges faced by some of their constituents who live in hard to reach areas.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Daniel Akuffo, presenting the motorcycles, charged them to ensure strict culture of maintenance to ensure the life span of the motorcycles. “Your transportation challenges had been a major headache for the assembly, hence, this gesture is to make you mobile to undertake your duties without hindrance,” he added.

He charged them not to park the motorcycles at home, sell it or use it for any other purpose apart from the reason of the allocation.

The DCE warned that the allocation could be withdrawn if the assembly realise the motorcycles is being misused, adding that “it was appropriate for the members see the enormous resources that have gone into the purchase just to help them effectively discharge their duties.”

He commended them for their past sacrifices and urged them to continue supporting the assembly to enable it achieve planned policies and programmes of the government.

The presiding member of the assembly, Jonathan Kwabla, expressed gratitude to the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the DCE for the gesture, and assured of members commitment to support the government fulfil its mandate to the people.
