Shai Osudoku Assembly supports Muslims

The Shai Osudoku Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has donated assorted food items to Muslims in the area, towards the celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Fitir.

Muslims at Ayikuma, Rama Town, Dodowa, Asutsuare and Doryumu received bags of the rice and cartons of   cooking oil.

The Deputy Coordinating Director of the Assembly, Mr Amadou Iddrisu,   who made the donation on behalf of the District Chief Executive, Mr Daniel Akuffo, said the gesture was to support Muslims in the areas as they celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said Muslims have contributed to national development through their month-long fasting, hence the need to support  them  to continue praying for peace and stability.

Mr Iddrisu indicated that the assembly as part of its corporate social responsibility would continue to support Muslims even after the annual   fasting and prayers.

He urged Muslims to use the holy period to renew their commitment to Allah.

Mr Iddrisu commended   Muslims for upholding peace, and urged other religious groups to emulate their example of peaceful co-existence and tolerance.

He asked Muslims to reflect on the month-long sacrifice, and eschew actions that would disturb the peace of the country.

Chief Ali Iddrisu on behalf of the Dodowa Muslim community commended the assembly for the gesture, and urged other institutions to emulate their examples.

He assured of constant prayers for peace and stability, and charged the residents to live in harmony and respect each other for progress.
