Sea Lions clash with Soccer Intellectuals in Women’s League

Elmina Sea Lions will this afternoon host Soccer Intellectuals in a Group C match day four fixture of the ongoing Normalisation Committee Special Women’s Competition at the Ndoum Stadium in Elmina.

With both teams locked up on five points apiece with the host leading by virtue of goals difference, a win for either side puts them in a very advantageous position to qualify for the next round.

Third place Ladystrikers who are on four points will trek to the Gyandu Park in Sekondi to face Hasaacas Ladies who have just a point from three games.

The home side has vowed to pick up the pieces in this second round and make sure they make it to the next round of the competition.

It would therefore be important for them to begin the second round on a bright note with victory this afternoon.

With the likes of Linda Eshun, Lily Niber Lawrence and Janet Egyir lining up for them, Hasmal Ladies look likely to pick their first three points of the campaign.

At the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, Northern Ladies will go for vengeance in their Group B table toppers Ampem Darkoa Ladies whom they lost 2-1 to in the opening day fixture.

The host are a point shy of the leaders and have the chance to go top of the table should they win this game.

At the Army Park in Sunyani, fourth placed Prisons Ladies will engage Pearlpia Ladies who are breathing heavily on the neck of Northern Ladies in second place.

A top of the table clash will happened in Group A where Ashtown Ladies cross swords with Fabulous Ladies at the Police Depot Park.

Having drawn goalless in the first round tie, Ashtown Ladies are expected to take advantage of the presence of their home fans to pick all three points at stake and brighten their chances of qualifying to the next stage.

Joint table toppers Kumasi Sports Academy look set to bag home all three points when they travel to the Osei Kyeretwie Park in Kumasi to play bottom side and pointless Supreme Ladies.

Police Ladies, the only team in the competition to have won all games will be at the Community 8 No. 2 Park in Tema to battle second placed Halifax Ladies for the three points at stake.

Striker Ernestina Tetteh who leads the goal queen chart with three goals believes Police Ladies will fall at her feet just like Immigration Ladies did over the weekend.

Samaria Ladies will stay put at the ATTC Park in Kokomlemle to engage bottom placed Immigration Ladies who are yet to record a single point.
