SDA Young Ladies Ministries present items to Akwadum orphanage

The Young Ladies Ministries Department of the New Life Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Anlo-Town, in the New Juabeng Municipality of the Eastern Region Sunday  donated assorted items worth GH¢4,000 to the Akwadum Christian Village Orphanage Home, with a call on teenagers to refrain from sexual intercourse to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

The items include three bags of rice, 50 bags of sachet water, two cartons of sunflower oil, a bag of Omo, a carton of Key soap and Madar soap, a box of tin tomatoes, a carton of tin fish, 15 tubers of yam, 10 cartons of Voltic mineral water, 10 crates of egg, men and women underwear, ladies bag and bags of used clothing.

They also presented a cash sum of GH¢1,000 and prepared a meal upon request for the inmates.

Presenting the items, leader of the Young Ladies Ministry, Miss Stella Afriyie Kwadade admonished teenagers to abstain from early sex to avoid unwanted pregnancy if they were not prepared to take full responsibility of the child.

According to her, the only solution that would reduce the abandoning of newly born babies by their teenage mothers was to abstain from sexual intercourse until theywere ready for such task.

She advised youth against unhealthy practices that might not aid them to achieve their goals in future and pledged that her ministry would continue to support the less-privileged in the society.

The Assistant Administrator of the Orphanage Home, Ms Edith Ahamah Dzifa expressed gratitude to the Young Ladies Ministries for their timely donation and appealed to the government and other philanthropists to construct a borehole and extension of the perimeter of the wall around the school.

Also for his part,The NewLife SDA Church Pastor, Afari-Dadzie called on other cooperate bodies to emulate what the young ladies in the NewLife SDA Church have done.
