Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort adjudged best Hotel 2022

The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort has been adjudged Ghana’s leading Hotel of the Year, 2022 at the 29th annual World Travel Award (WTA) Africa and Indian Ocean Gala award ceremony held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi-Kenya.

WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

This is the second time the hotel and resort has grabbed such an award as they won same in 2015.

The awards are based on votes cast across the globe on a first-hand experience with a nominated facility.

Mr Graham Cooke, Founder, WTA, speaking at the ceremony said it was very delightful that tourism was bouncing back and as such the gathering would serve as the perfect platform for the industry’s leaders to re-unite and a launchpad for future business growth in East Africa.

Mr Cooke congratulated all the industry players, nominees and award winners for their dedication and service in their various industries and urged them to put in more in the coming years.

The General Manager of the hotel and resort, Gerard Schraven said the recognition was for Ghana as much as it was for the firm and added that ‘the West-African country was the anchor of the resort’s brand’.

Mr Schraven explained that the hotel and resort’s recognition could be attributed to its representation of Ghana’s beautiful culture and tradition which had been woven into its fine contemporary hospitality.

According to him the “business would continue to enhance its services and products to suit the dynamic taste of customers, and also strive to embody the wealth of indigenous royalty which it seeks to represent”.

On his part, the Head of Sales and Marketing, Emmanuel Mensah, expressed gratitude to the voting public, noting that much more would be done in the coming years to add to the satisfaction of customers.

Mr Mensah also added that the hotel was well positioned not only to receive visitors to Ghana for the coming festive season, but also to introduce them to the soul of the country through customer-tailored packages and services.

The 35-acre resort makes creative and efficient use of its proximity to the Volta Lake, affording guests luxury in a relaxing peaceful atmosphere and its distinctive traditional architecture and service.
