Royal Anderlecht award players

Tema Newtown Division Two Club, Royal Anderlecht Football Club, held its maiden awards and dinner night over the weekend to climax the 2021 season at the Mac Hotel, Tema.

The awards were to honor deserving players who excelled in the campaign and also encourage them to give out their maximum best when the new season kick starts.

At the event, enterprising midfielder Michael Ansong was adjudged the Overall Best Player, while one-time Ghana Premier League (GPL) 2012 Discovery of the Year, Joshua Oninku, picked the Most Disciplined Player Award.

The Promising Player of the season went to Abraham Annan with youngster Henry Afaglo earning the Discovery of the Year.

Other awardees on the night were Elliot Awuley, who went home with the Most Industrious Player Award; forwards Patrick Attamah and Gabriel Akpolu who emerged top scorers with four goals each were also awarded for their blistering performance.

Top personalities including opinion leaders, journalists and individuals who contributed their quota to the club were also presented with citations for their tireless efforts.

Royal Anderlecht FC were crowned Zone 1A champions in the 2021 Greater Accra Regional Division Two League, but suffered a painful 1-0 defeat to city rivals Real Athletico in the play-offs.
