Revival Outreach Church reaches out to Teshie Orphanage

The Revival Outreach Church, La in the Greater Accra Region yesterday presented assorted food items to the Teshie Orphanage.

The items costing about GH¢10,000 included bags of sugar, maize, rice, sachet water, toilet rolls, sanitary pads, cartons of milk, detergents, biscuit and cartons of soft drinks.

The Head Pastor of the Local Assembly of the church, Professor Abednego OkoeAmartey, presenting the items said it formed part of the congregation’s social responsibility towards putting smiles on the faces of less privileged in society.

The donation, he also explained, was to round off the church’s Easter activities of sharing and caring for the needy in society, as preached by the Saviour Jesus Christ.

Prof. Amartey who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) stated that “Christ is still alive and that is why it is necessary for every Ghanaian to preach peace and be each other’s keeper.

“There is the need to preach and care for each other so as to maintain the peace and unity of the country,” he added.

He charged the inmates of the orphanage to take good care of themselves and see their current situation as challenge, and take their education seriously in order to become responsible citizens in future.

The founder of the Home, Mrs Janet Anyeiley Parker, commended the church for the support and urged other spirited groups, individuals and philanthropist to donate in cash and kind, towards giving the children the best they deserve.

“We need them to have the best education they deserve in order to effectively prepare them for the future,” she added.
