Prudential Bank adjudged ‘The Emerging Digital Bank of the Year’ at GITTA

Prudential Bank, a leading indigenous bank has been adjudged “The Emerging Digital Bank of the Year” at the 12th edition of the Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards (GITTA) 2022, held in Accra.

The award was in recognition of the giant strides made by the bank in the area of digital innovation and transformation, as evidenced in the numerous digital products churned out since it embarked on its digital transformation agenda.

Commenting on the award, Mr Leopold Armah, Head, Digital Transformation (DT), said, “This award is a testament that the bank must continue to leverage technology to create value for all our stakeholders and also make a positive impact in society.”

 He further indicated that there were more exciting digital offerings in store for the bank’s customers and the general public designed to make banking a pleasant experience.

Prudential Bank’s acknowledgment is coming on the back of being recently ranked 63rd best company at the Ghana Club 100 awards.

PBL is among a few, if not the only financial intermediary that has brought the true meaning of delivering varied cards services to the public. It is now issuing all the five top cards solutions (Visa, UnionPay, Mastercard, eZwich and Gh-link) in the country.

Furthermore, the bank it said recently overhauled the process of empowering businesses to effectively interact with their customers and maximise revenue.

Solutions, notably mPay (USSD Merchant Solution); DigiPay (instant bulk payment engine); e-Commence Engine (Online Payment Gateway); GhQR Acquiring Solution have been introduced.

“All this in addition to the rebranded USSD Retail Platform (*772#) and involvement of GhanaPay industry-wide wallet solution has gone a long way to enable the bank create the right stickiness for customers,” he said.

Now in its 12th year, GITTA has become the cornerstone event that promotes and celebrates governments, IT operators, ISPs, infrastructure providers, Fintechs, banks and other stakeholders to share the progress of their successful ICT innovations, aiming to further enhance the Ghanaian community as part of the government’s vision on a robust digital economy.
