PRINPAG goes to polls on August 12

The Private Newspaper Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) is set to hold elections to select new officers to steer the affairs of the association for three years, on August 12, 2022.

A three-member committee which would be chaired bythe Managing Editor of the Catholic Standard, Mr Ben Assorow, has been constituted to oversee the elections.

The other members are the former Editor of Christian Messenger, Mr Gyamfi Boaten, Mr Desmond Darkoof the Catalyst Newspaper withMrKentemanNii-LaryeaSowah as the secretary to the committee.

The positions being contested include President, Vice-President, National Organiser, Treasurer and Public AffairsOfficer.

The functions of the committee include “outlining the timetable for the nominations, vetting and elections of all eligible candidates who shall declare their intent to stand; fix the date for the elections and declaration of results and confirmation of the album from the list of qualified voters.”

The association called on all members to pay all dues by July 29, 2022.

It also indicated that “a list of candidates and eligible voters would be published in selected newspapers on August 1, 2022 and filing of nominations on August 2, 2022 as well as vetting of all aspirants on Thursday, August 4, 2022.
