President commiserates with Gbi Traditional Area over death of Togbega Gabusu

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo on Monday signed a book of condolence of the late Togbega Gabusu VII, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area and commiserated with the Gbi Traditional Council.

His ancestral journey was announced on January 18, 2020 by Togbe Keh XII, Divisional Chief of Gbi Wegbe.

The President, who is on a three-day working visit to Oti and Volta regions used the occasion to mourn with the chiefs and people of the Gbi Traditional Council.

President Akufo- Addo who was accompanied by some ministers of state noted that though not officially informed, he found it extremely important to do the right thing.

According to him, the late Togbega Gabusu VI, was a loyal friend, strong, upright and honest man who spoke his mind on issues freely and need to be celebrated.

The President said even though he was one of the advocates of the creation of the  Oti Region, he did not live to see its creation and he  would be remembered as one of the respected outstanding traditional leaders that led a very good life during his reign.

The Presidency presented some assorted drinks, water and an undisclosed amount to the Traditional Council.

Togbe Keh XII, Divisional Chief of Gbi Wegbe thanked President Akufo Addo for his show of statesmanship to the Gbi people.
