Police probe alleged attack on staff of Angel Broadcasting Network

The police have commenced investigations into the alleged attack by unknown persons on Stephen Kofi Adomah, staff of Angel Broadcasting Network, at Old Ashongman Village, in Accra, at the weekend.

According to the information from Police Public Affairs  Directorate, gathered by the Ghanaian Times, the probe began immediately the police received information about the attack.

The Ghanaian Times also received information that the attackers riding motor cycles, reportedly attacked Adomah with sharp objects and attempted to set him ablaze while the broadcast journalist was returning from Kuntunse, in Accra.

Adomah was said to have suffered injuries and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) had condemned the attack on Adomah.

A statement signed by the General Secretary of the GJA, Mr Kofi Yeboah, called on the police to investigate the attacks.

“It is sad the GJA national executives attending a three-day retreat at Obosomase, near Aburi, in the Eastern region, received the news of attack with shock,” and urged the public to support the police in investigations to bring perpetrators to book.
