The Mamponteng District Police Command in the Ashanti Region, has commenced investigation into the death of a baby boy, whose body was found in a manhole, at Aboaso in the Kwabre East Municipality.
Eric Gyapa, one-year-old baby boy, went missing, last Thursday as a search for him proved futile.
The body of Gyapa, was however, found afloat water in a manhole, located at the back of a house, a day after he went missing.
Nana Minta, an eyewitness, said the baby boy might have stepped onto a rusted metal that had been used to cover the manhole.
Catherine Appiah, mother of Gyapa, in an attempt to speak to the media, collapsed and was rushed to a hospital.
The body of Gyapa has been deposited at the Ankaase Methodist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. – ghanaweb.com
