The Police Depot Keep Fit Club will partner the Ghana National Association for the Deaf (GNAF) to embark on a health walk aimed at raising awareness on the benefits of exercise for the disabled.
The walk, slated for November 13, will be the third edition under the theme ‘Disability is not Inability.’
Organisers said it will start at 5:30 am at the Police Depot located at Tesano and go through some principal streets to Kwame Nkrumah Circle and back to the Police Depot.
According to a statement of the club signed by ASP Alexander Asamoah, Chairman of the Club, there were multitude of barriers limiting the access of disabled people to fitness and this has affected their well-being and fulfillment.
It added that the exercise was an attempt to sensitize the public that people with disability needed tender care in exercising.
