PDS takes charge of power retail as interim arrangement

The Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) and Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana have agreed on interim operational modalities to set PDS in charge of electricity retail sale.

The interim agreement which took effect on Thursday, August 8, was to ensure that customers did not get any disruption in power supply and service delivery.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the Managing Director of ECG, Mr Samuel Boakye-Appiah and the Chief Executive Officer of PDS, Mr William Hutton-Mensah.

PDS on behalf of ECG would provide the service of meter reading, billing, and distribution of bills, bill reconciliation, revenue collection, new service connections, disconnections and reconnections, faulty meter replacements, network faults and repairs, complaints and fault reporting to the call centres.
