Passion For Needy launches 10th anniv

Passion For Needy, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides humanitarian services to the underprivileged in society has launched its 10th anniversary celebrations.

It is scheduled to start with a Founder’s Day donation, which is an annual event to acknowledge the contributions of the president and founder of the NGO, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, chairperson of the NGO, Mrs Janet Togbor EL-Aschor, said, Passion For Needy was set up to provide need-based assistance to individuals, communities and instil awareness for the needy in society

She said “Passion For Needy was setup by Prophet T.B. Joshua, who runs a similar outfit in Nigeria. The Ghana branch was established in 2009 to address concerns of the needy in Ghana.”

Mrs EL-Aschor said the climax of the anniversary celebration would be the observation of the day on July 16, 2019, during which individuals and organisations who have contributed to the success story of the NGO will be honoured.

She said the NGO had over the years embarked on numerous humanitarian services, including a donation to the Islamic Research and Reformation Institute, at Nima, Accra.

Mrs EL-Aschor said that the NGO also donated to the 37 Military Hospital to cater for the June 3 fire victims, which occurred at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

She called on individuals and benevolent organisations that had supported the NGO in various ways to participate in the celebrations.
