Paramount chief of Drobo to contest Council of State election

The Paramount Chief of Drobo Traditional Area in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region,Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, has filed his nomination for election as the regional representative to the Council of State.

He is an economist and development planner.

Okokyeredom Ako, 65, is contesting the region’s single slot with four others, comprising Dr George Adjei Henne, 66, a lecturer and former Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of Education;Kwadwo Agyenim-Boateng, 77, a veteran Journalist; Dominic Adu Gyimah, 42, a teacher by profession; and Kwabena Boahen, 39, an agronomist.

Frank Ohene Okraku, Deputy Bono Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), said the election would be conducted today, February 12, 2021, and disclosed that 24 voters consisting of two each from the six Municipal and six District Assemblies in the region would form the Electoral College in Sunyani to elect a representative for the Council of State. -GNA
