Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics, Daniel Annor Walker says the team’s3-1 victory over city rivals, Accra Lions was a testament of what fans should expect this season.
The ‘AGOSU’ lads produced a fine form against the league debutants, beating them 3-1 on a Sunday late kick-off game with a hat-trick from Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye.
Skipper Richmond Tetteh Ankrah pulled one back for the away team.
“We would have scored more if my players had been more patient and purposeful in front of goal.”
Speaking after the game, Coach Annor Walker noted that he was building a side to replicate the fine form of last season or improve upon that.
“Today’s game was an improvement on our first game. We played a very good side; they gave us a tough run. If you judge them by the score, you do so at your own peril.”
According to him, Accra Lions are new and needs time to adjust to the style of the Premier League.
On his target for this season, he revealed that it was unchanged from last season.
“Last season we set out to be one of the four best teams in the league but at the end of the season we failed to achieve that.”
“This season we are at it again.My target is to be in the top four.”
Great Olympics have amassed four points from two games after drawing 1-1 with Real Tamale United in Tamale on matchday one.
Olympics would next face another city rival, Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
