Olympic qualifier: South Africa ready for Angola today

THE swashbuckling South Africa Under-23 side arrived in the country on Saturday and went straight into preparation mode for the second leg of this second round CAF Olympic qualifier against Angola.

The second leg match is scheduled for Milpark Stadium today.

Carrying a healthy 3-1 first leg advantage, coach David Notoane is leaving nothing to chance and has called his players to maintain a 100 per cent focus.

“Funny things have happened in football and we don’t want to be caught on the wrong side of history. We will thoroughly prepare for the second leg and polishing any shortcomings we detected in the first leg,” he said upon arrival.

The team, which the medical team has declared injury free, did some light training upon arrival from Angola on Saturday as part of their regeneration programme. The team undertook a full training session at the match venue on Sunday afternoon.

They also watched the Bafana Bafana v Libya game together at the team hotel. – SuperSport
