Ofoli Kwei, Agbeyeye win Indece bodybuilding championship

Nungua based bodybuilder; Joseph Ofoli Kwei and Victoria Agbeyeye were on Wednesday crowned winners of the maiden Independence Day Flex Night of Champions bodybuilding competition held at the Osu Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Hall.

Ofoli Kwei, aka Joe Bataba lived up to expectation and overcame the fierce challenge from the Bahrain based Ghanaian bodybuilder Bruno Dalia, who is currently the Bahrain Bodybuilding National Day Championship winner.

Right from the quarter turns, front double biceps, rear double biceps, front lat spread, rear lat spread, side triceps, side chest, front abdominal & thigh displays, Ofoli Kwei proved equal to the task.

He was also incredible in the dance pose session where his choice of 2010 World Cup song Wavin’ Flag by K’naan proved to be a good one.

Head-to-head with defending Man Ghana bantamweight champion, Adom Mobio, Ofoli Kwei excelled to win the diadem, leaving Abukari Puedem, Dalia, Elvis Berchie and Bright HoldBrook behind.

In the men’s physique competition, Daniel Nyame Acheampong beat the rest of the pack to win the diadem with Prince Osei and John Dadzie coming in second and third places respectively.

The Female Bikini contest saw defending Man Ghana Female Bikini champion Victoria Mawusi Agbeyeye emerge triumphant again and was followed in second and third positions respectively by Vanessa Korleki and Lydia Bayor.

In a chat with Times Sports, president of the GBFA, Abdul Hayye-Yartey, said the competition was one of the many local events the Association will roll out to unearth talents.
