Odum Mensah, Asigri excel in Tesano Police Depot tennis ranking tourney

Mr Richard Odum Mensah has emerged winner of this year’s Tesano Police Depot Tennis Club internal ranking tournament.

He defeated Mr Prince Tetteh 6-4, 0-6, 6-1 in a three-and-half-hour thrilling and intense duel.

For his prize, he was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of GH₵500.00.

In the ladies’ final, Mrs Eugenia Asigri beat Mrs Lola Mogaji to win the ranking title and took home a trophy and a cash prize of GH₵500.00.

In total, 45 players made up of 36 males and nine females participated in the tournament which spanned a period of seven weeks.

The annual tournament which, was organised by members of the Tesano Police Depot Tennis Club, was aimed at ranking members and keep them in good shape for future external tournaments.

Presenting the trophies, the Chairman of the Depot Tennis Club, Mr Bilal Bin Hassan praised the enthusiasm that was showed by club members throughout the tournament.

He announced plans to roll out a series of trial matches to improve the competitiveness of members.

Receiving his award, Lawyer Mensah expressed excitement at the win, saying “Prince fought until the end of every match. I don’t know how I came through but I am very happy I won.”
