Obuasi SHTS student stabbed to death

A student of the Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHST) has been allegedly stabbed to death at Anyinamu, in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region, a gang.

The 18 year, identified as Illiasu Fuseini, also known as Captain, was believed to have been killed at a night club at Anyinamu, Obuasi.

A source at the Ashanti Regional Police Command, confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times, indicating that Fuseine went to the club at Anyinamu in the company of friends, where they crashed with a gang on Sunday during  6th March jam (entertainment).

Some eye witnesses claimed the incident happened as a result of confrontation between youth ‘rascals’ of Tutuka and Anyinamu, in Obuasi.

Atakyi Akrasi, an eye witness, alleged that a section of the Anyinam youth stormed the night club in search of Tutuka residents.

He said the youth stabbed the victim and he suffered a big cut on his right cheek.

Atakyi Akrasi said Fuseine was rescued, and died when he was being rushed to the Mangoase Government Hospital, where the body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

In another development, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has mounted a search for four people, who allegedly fired gun at a commercial vehicle at Woraso on the Mampong-Ejura Highway, in the early hours of Thursday,  killing one person and wounding another.

A statement signed by Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Godwin Ahyiano, said the anti-robbery team led by the Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCOP) Boakye Afful Yiadom, was pursuing the suspects.

The police appealed to the public to volunteer information to the police to enable them arrest the suspects.

Meanwhile, the police has contacted the families of the victims to help them receive psychological support.
