Nungua schools to get improved infrastructure

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Krowor Constituency in Accra, Madam Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, has cut sod for the construction of educational facilities in the Krowor Municipality.

A three- storey 18-unit classroom block, a six -seater water closet toilet and a Girls’ Dormitory would be constructed at the Nungua Senior High School.

Another beneficiary school is the Nungua Cluster of Schools where a two-storey six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities would be constructed, while the Ansaru Sunna Islamic School at Nungua Zongo would also get a two – storey six-unit classroom block with toilets.

Madam Afoley Quaye who doubles as the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development said that the construction of the classroom blocks was to provide adequate accommodation for the students and pupils to study.

She said that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was determined to make children in Ghana have sound foundation in education.

“Nana Akufo-Addo is a development oriented president who will ensure equity in the distribution of the national cake,” Madam Afoley Quaye said.

According to the MP, the free Senior High School Policy would bring massive transformation to the nation regarding human resource development.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Krowor, Mr Joshua Nii Bortey, said that the assembly had made a commitment to develop the area and called on the people to lend their support to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to carry out its developmental agenda successfully.

He said that adequate time would be spent in monitoring the respective contractors to ensure that they would not execute shoddy work.

Madam Afoley Quaye together with the MCE and other dignitaries earlier inaugurated a GH₵250,000 Kindargaten at the Ebenezer Methodist School also at Nungua.

She asked the assembly to ensure that all public buildings or facilities were properly maintained to prolong their life span.
