NTC opens year with thanksgiving service

The New Times Corporation (NTC), publishers of the Ghanaian Times and THE Spectator, held a church service to thank God and also seek His protections through the year.

In attendance were the Managing Director (MD), Mr Martin Adu-Owusu, Editor of Ghanaian Times, Mr David Agbenu; the Acting Editor of Spectator, Mrs Georgina Naa-Maku Quaittoo; the Acting Human Resource Manager, Suleman Osman, among others.

Reverend Joseph Oman Ocquaye graced the event with inspiring sermon titled ‘The Four Pills for Divine Success.’

According to him, the four pills for divine success were being “upright, blameless, God-fearing and avoiding evil.”

“As Ghanaians and workers of this corporation, never be afraid of what 2024 will bring because God has already taken care of the year, yours is to live an upright life, be blameless, fear God and also avoid evil,” he said.

Rev. Ocquaye centred his message on the scripture Job 1:1-2, explaining how righteous people, such as Job, suffered without fault but in the end God rewarded him abundantly.

“Keep trusting God, His authority is over all and so we have to be conscious and intentional about obeying Him just as Job did and he received favour from God,” he said.

He called on the workers not to relent on their effort in positioning the Corporation at its best, saying, “whatever skills you have, know that it is not your own but God rented it to you, so use it well to benefit of the Corporation.”

Rev .Ocquaye prayed and asked for God’s blessings upon the company, workers and the country.

He also advised the public to pray for the country’s upcoming elections to avoid anything that could hinder the peace the country was enjoying.

The MD, Mr Adu-Owusu, in his remarks, commended the workers for their selfless dedication towards their various assignments.

He admitted that 2023 was one of the difficult years for the Corporation, but was hopeful that 2024 would be better.

“See this year as a good one, put in all the efforts to change the fortunes of the company because there are better things ahead and I pray and hope this year would be better compared to previous years,” he said.

He wished all NTC workers a happy and prosperous new year.
